Moving your iiNet wall socket connection within the same room is doable and yes, Mr Telco can relocate your socket.

When NBN technicians initially install your iiNet connection point, a majority of the time it's installed to the exterior facing wall of a house.

NBN technicians are given a scope of works to installs your wall socket. However the most convenient spot for your wall socket being installed on the outside wall is not rocket science! The wall socket is installed there because in most cases a brick veneer home has a small 20 - 50mm gap between the brick and the gyprock wall. It's so much more simpler and safer for a tech to install down a cavity type wall.

However, customer requirements or preference may be down an internal facing wall of the house. The NBN iiNet techie will take a lot more time to install your wall plate because there is no cavity, and the technician will have to drill down through the studwork from inside the ceiling.
