I would like to relocate the NBN box and add a data point upstairs. Currently located in lounge room and is awkward to run anything upstairs without trailing cords across walkways. House is already wired with coax and has existing wall plates for Foxtel. Would like it neater and hidden if possible.
Name: Mr Telco
Location: Australia Wide
You can definitely leave your NBN box connected to the smart TV downstairs if that setup is working for you. I’m guessing it’s plugged straight into the TV? That’s totally fine. But if you’re looking to get connectivity upstairs, we can run a new data cable to one or more rooms up there.
If you're planning to move your NBN gear upstairs, it sounds like you’ll still need a new data point installed at the right spot.
When Mr Telco installs data cabling, we run it through wall cavities wherever possible to keep everything neat and hidden. All work is done to ACMA standards.
Now, depending on how your home is built, especially in newer houses with brick veneer downstairs and blueboard or hebel upstairs, there might not be a wall cavity we can use. In those cases, we may need to run external conduit.
Avoid messy walkways and trip hazards. We’ll move your NBN and add data points professionally by ACMA registered cablers
