Question

Notice of Temporary Disconnection NBN

Name: Robert Fenton

Location: Baulkham Hills

I received the following card left at my house from an NBN technician, can you tell me what this means?

Notice of temporary disconnection to your telecommunications service
The nbn© approved technicians have visited your property and attempted to discuss and resolve a fault, identified within your premises, which is affecting the telecommunications services of neighbouring addresses.

To ensure impacts are minimised, nbn has installed a device in our nbnTM equipment on your property to temporarily block your telecommunications services so interference to the nbnTM" access network is avoided. To restore your services, an nbnTM approved technician is required to investigate the interference at your premises. Please contact your phone and internet provider to setup an appointment to have the matter esolved and use the reference number XXX-XXX-XXX.

Please note you will need to attend the scheduled appointment and your telecommunications services will be restored when the matter is resolved.

Answer

Your internet was disconnected because......

Name: Mr Telco

Location: Australia Wide

Because there is a modem or device on your property feeding power/voltage/noise back to the network which ultimately affects other customers on the network.

For instance, if your NTD is faulty it could be sending an alignment of issues.

HFC connections may have a faulty isolator and modem, therefor allowing power to backfeed down the RG6 cable into NBNs network, affecting other connections which can cause them to slow down, drop out or not connect.

For NBN FTTB/FTTN it could potentially be affecting your port on the DSLAM affecting the line card, or even affecting other cabling due to electrical interference.

I hope this has been informational, and if you've any questions don't hesitate to ask.
